Our Team

The idea for the Bournelyf Butterfly Garden (BBG) project emerged when Pastor John Woodcock from Church of the Loving Shepherd (CLS) suggested to Barbara Rinehart that she complete her 50 Master Gardener volunteer hours developing a garden project that would benefit the intellectually challenged campers at the Bournelyf Special Camp. Barb then shared her concept with Nancy Sakaduski, Chester County Master Gardener Coordinator and Craig Rybinski, Special Project Chair who review and approve volunteer projects. The next step was to submit a proposal and to form a team. The original team consisted of the members of Team Cindy in the Chester County Master Gardener 2012 Training Class: Taryn Marie Giunta, Diane Roberts, Gail Warner-Lidondici, and Barbara who has become the Project Leader. Tom Bare, Master Gardener and member of CLS also was part of that team. Once the project was approved, Barb opened the project up to all Master Gardeners and Master Gardener Apprentices. Our team numbers have grown to include the following:

About chestercoextbutterfly

I am an apprentice Master Gardener with the Pennsylvania State University (PSU) Cooperative Extension Program. My local office is in Chester County. As part of my volunteer activity I am working with a team to develop a Butterfly Garden on the grounds of the  Church of the Loving Shepherd.  We will be using the creation of this garden as an educational program for some of the participants in the Bournelyf Special Camp which, is held every summer. Members of the congregation of the church will be involved as well as in the ongoing maintenance of the garden. The purpose of this blog is to document the project as it develops.
