The idea for the Bournelyf Butterfly Garden (BBG) project emerged when Pastor John Woodcock from Church of the Loving Shepherd (CLS) suggested to Barbara Rinehart that she complete her 50 Master Gardener volunteer hours developing a garden project that would benefit the intellectually challenged campers at the Bournelyf Special Camp. Barb then shared her concept with Nancy Sakaduski, Chester County Master Gardener Coordinator and Craig Rybinski, Special Project Chair who review and approve volunteer projects. The next step was to submit a proposal and to form a team. The original team consisted of the members of Team Cindy in the Chester County Master Gardener 2012 Training Class: Taryn Marie Giunta, Diane Roberts, Gail Warner-Lidondici, and Barbara who has become the Project Leader. Tom Bare, Master Gardener and member of CLS also was part of that team. Once the project was approved, Barb opened the project up to all Master Gardeners and Master Gardener Apprentices.
